Marketing and Networking Tips

These tips will be focused towards Facebook. Only because that’s what I have really put time and effort into learning. But they can be used on other social media platforms if you prefer with a little adjusting. I have been asked lots of questions lately on marketing and networking so I wanted to share what I do with anyone who wants to read. I have taken marketing classes when I was with a network marketing company. I have managed a page for that and then one for the tractor dealership. So in the 7 or so years I have been doing this I have kind of figured out what has worked for me. And would like to help everyone out. And remember different things works for everyone, but these are some things to try:

  • Create a business page
  • Add people to your personal page who would be interested in your business (related to your niche and in my case I also search for people that their page says self-employed)
  • Join lots of groups on Facebook- networking, business related, life related (single mom, crafting pages, couponing, etc… whatever interest you)
  • Start interacting with people on that you have added and in groups you have joined (build relationships)
  • If you make a business post, make sure it is on your personal page as well as business page and vice versa
  • Make different types of post: promoting your business, inspirational, tips, humor, etc… Always change them up (Ask yourself what impression do you want to leave on people? What do you want them to remember you by? When you figure that out focus your post around that) EX: my thing has been motivational post (I probably drive people crazy but they will think of me when they think motivation lol)
  • Someone once said if you think you are annoying people with your post and advertise, you probably aren’t. Most likely they are just starting to notice you. It takes an average of 7 times for a person to see an ad before they are considering buying. (so keep that in mind if you think you are posting too much)
  • Grant Cardone says in to do everything 10x more than you normally would, that way when people think of whatever you do they will associate your name. Like for me, my goal is for when people think of a bookkeeper they think Megan Davis
  • Share your post in the groups. Not just the ones the advertising ones but stuff people will remember you by
  • Send out random messages to people that you think would be interested in your product or service. Just introduce yourself, tell them what you do, and offer help if they ever need your service or product and of course thank them for their time. Or another route would be to ask if they currently have a bookkeeper (in my case fit your needs). Make sure you make your messages personal
  • Add phone number email and address to advertising post
  • Make the first line grab peoples attention
  • keep your post short , people have a short attention span especially on Facebook
